Roller Derby Posters, a year in the making

For a year now, I have been creating artwork for the posters of the Hel'z Belles Roller Derby team in Helena, Montana.  What a great team and great gals.  It was definitely challenging and rewarding.    Here is what the year looked like. : )

Monster Madness

I finished some Faltars for a challenge between me and a friend.   A Faltar is a made up word, which signifies a fun altar memorializing a weird story or fun memory.   I am hoping to put some of the Faltars  in the spring art walk for Helena.    Here are two that I finished this week.  These are inspired by the classic B-Horror film zaniness.

I was looking for a way to incorporate my illustration into some fun pieces.

First day of a whole new thing

I have been doing illustration for a while.  I thought I would turn some of them into paper dolls.

Here are some sketches of some of them.

"Hi" from Raising Arizona and "Jack" from The Shining.

A creature some kind of Lagoon.

Coffee Zombie

                                                                      Dracula

A kind of Frankenstein

A little Inspiration for a cold and dreary day

Finally, a new day to post something....anything.

Today, it is a very cold and snowy day.  Perfect for sitting in front of the computer and visiting some cool sites (I am not talking about this one.  It lacks, I know.  I'm working on it!).

Speaking of cool sites, I just was on Lori Nix's site.  She creates scenes right out of a surreal fantasy!  She has the ability to make you feel like a silent witness to some sort of mystery.

I love her artwork!  You can see her site here http://www.lorinix.net/

Another artist who takes you on a journey of sorts is Jason deCaires Taylor.

http://www.underwatersculpture.com/  His artwork is so unique.  I love how he incorporates nature.

Banksy is graffiti artist, who is clever and radical.  He adds a little humor to his statement.  I feel a little adventurous after looking at his art.

You can check out his site here http://www.banksy.co.uk/

Now that I feel inspired, I should probably do some artwork myself.

Thank you to Montana Book Company

My friends Jan Peccia and Didi Peccia own the Montana Book Company.  I have been lucky enough to have been featured in their store.  They are always doing things for the Helena community.  Cheers to both of you for your hard work and dedication!! And most of all, THANK YOU!!!

Missing Summer Ease

I am in the process of making more legs for the santa ornaments.  It was so much faster and waaaaaay easier in the summer. : )
